In September 2024 my newly launched creative company Sonic Collaborations developed a sonic experience for the Cutty Sark. The soundscape immerses it’s audience as they explore the boat with the sounds from the tea clipper as it embarks on its journey 150 years ago along with our specially commissioned music. The sounds have been made to be as accurate and realistic as possible, and range from being outside on the Main Deck in near-gale conditions to tea chests being loaded in Lower Hold. The experience is peppered with localised sound effects, ranging from various animal noises to the ringing of a ship’s bell. Accompanying these ambient sounds, is specially composed music created by Sonic Collaborations (Colin Riley and Nic Pendlebury). For more information click here.

A selection of music from the boat can be downloaded here which features four instrumental/ambient tracks from the Cutty Sark installation as well as an exclusive specially-created song Ebb and Flow featuring the vocals of Lottie P (Goat Girl).
